The goal of the project is to help undergraduate art students become more involved in the community by exhibiting their work, teaching workshops, and developing community engagement. Workshops and biweekly meetings will be held to discuss local art events.
Students will teach at least one workshop at B&E Art Studio in Brownsville. The artwork created at the workshops will then be exhibited in a curated student exhibition in the summer titled “Pigmented”, which will be presented at Galeria 409 in downtown Brownsville. During the course of the project, students will be required to attend a monthly CV/Resume workshop, which will help students keep track of their monthly exhibitions, and community service.
