A close reading and analyzation of legislation passed within Maria Amparo Ruiz de Burton’s “The Squatter and the Don” and U.S. immigration policies that have been currently circulating. Additional scholarly sources, data, and statistics regarding both will be analyzed to see if legislation created by both congresses bare any similarities.
